HAULIERS will be called in very soon to move millions of tonnes of coal from pit heads to power stations, National Coal Board sources say.
But the NCB has already received offers of service from hauliers who are willing to carry the coal in the massive operation.
The operation — organised by the NCB, Central Electricity Generating Board and encouraged by the Government — will have an enormous environmental impact as huge convoys of lorries run between pit heads and power stations.
