CAPABLE of a delivery rate of 600 g.p.m., a new airport-hydrant fuel dispenser, based on the Karrier Gamecock chassis, has been supplied by Simmonds Aerocessories, Ltd., Treforest, to the Esso Petroleum Co., Ltd. The first vehicle of the series is destined for Barcelona and others are to be dispatched to Madrid and Nicosia.
Many of the components are supplied. by companies in the Firth Cleveland Group, of which Simmonds are members. They include Frain water separators, shock-alleviator valves and Dickow selfpriming centrifugal pumps.
Connection to the hydrant point is made by either of two inlet hoses of 4-in, diameter mounted on the side of the vehicle. Delivery to the aircraft is through a pair of short " top-deck " hoses, or longer reeled hoses carried at the rear.
Full instrumentation is provided on a rear control platform.
FERODO IN SOUTH LONDON
NEw premises were officially opened on Wednesday by Ferodo, Ltd., at 114116 Thornton Road, Thornton Heath, Surrey. These offer improved sales and service facilities for the South London area.
The depot is situated on A23, the London-Redhill road, and serves customers in Surrey, Kent, Sussex, Berkshire and East Hants. The branch, under the district manager, Mr. E. B. Knee, and the office manager, Mr. R. H. Passfield, replaces premises in Clapham High Street.
' Of modern design, the depot has larger stocking facilities than its predecessor. Arrangements for speedy relining of brakes have been, made, and the depot has good amenities for off-the-road parking.
