TRUE Aberdeenshire hauliers who were granted transfers from contract-A . to A licence, at Aberdeen last week, immediately had the licences suspended by Mr. A. Robertson, Scottish Deputy Licensing Authority, for infringing contract conditions.
The hauliers, Mr. William Nicol, Kintore, James Paterson and Co. (Motor Hirers), Ltd., Aberdeen, and Cameron and Gibbon, Ltd., Monymusk, were restricted to carrying paper for C. Davidson and Sons, Ltd., Aberdeen. It was revealed in evidence, however, that they had carried return loads for the Northern Waste Paper Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Davidson.
Granting the Micences, Mr. Robertson said that the applicants may have been innocent of any deliberate intention to break the law, but he had to mark the irregularity by making suspensions, which would be effective for the period July 1-September '30.

The applicant sought to transfer his B licence to a heavier vehicle, with an increase of radius from 40 to 60 miles for road-making Materials, and a variation to include building supplies within 40 Miles.
It was explained that the vehicle was used for carrying coal during the winter and road-making materials during the summer.
