OK for new site • Livestock haulier Howard Pickersgill, trading as W J Pickersgill & Son, has been granted authority to operate from a site he bought following environmental problems with his previous two operating centres, despite opposition from North Yorkshire County Council.
Pickersgill had sought a licence for five vehicles and seven trailers based at Roman Castle Farm, Pickhill, Thirsk. He told North Eastern Deputy Licensing Authority Brian Homer that he had bought the farm after problems with local councils over two previous operating centres. (CM 25 April 1987). He had been told that there would be no objection, providing the gateway was altered.
