• Volvo and TOG are teaming up to create what the two companies describe as a "pioneering strategic alliance".
The alliance is aiming to set new standards in fleet management by sharing expertise in areas from research and development to training and the environment.
Volvo becomes the principal truck supplier to TDG for the next five years in a contract worth
up to £40m. About 200 trucks will be supplied every year, but the contract is flexible and includes a provision for short-term hire trucks during peak periods.
TDG's supply chain experts at Scio will look at Volvo's operation in the UK for areas of potential improvement. TDG group chief executive David Garman says more benefits will be announced as the partnership develops.
