• Fiat has cut Fiorino van and pickup prices by £500. New prices are: diesel van, £6,900 (ex-VAT); diesel pickup, £6,475 (ex-VAT); petrol van, £6,600 (ex-VAT). The reduction applies to the outgoing model which is being superseded by a mildly facelifted range.
• Load-restraint manufacturer Spanset will be offering four straps in a holdall for £50 at Truckfest this weekend. The offer will continue after the Peterborough event.
• Ecotek Air Management Systems has supplied Kenning with 40 Luton aerodynamic front panels for its hire fleet. They will be fitted to Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Ford Transit Luton-bodied chassis.
• Extra Leasing has been formed by the Charles Sidney motor group. Based in Lymm, the company will offer finance schemes from hire purchase to operating leases on a range of vehicles.
• Business Post has ordered 37 Scanias to join its parcels delivery fleet. Most of them will be P94 day-cabbed rigids; the deal also includes P-cab tractors and a drawbar rig. The vehicles will operate on a four-year contract-hire deal with Scania.
• Parcelforce has taken delivery of 17 MAN L2000 7.5-tonners with Cartwright GRP box bodies and rear roller shutters.
• Trailer and truck bodybuilder Southfields has opened an assembly and marketing operation in Charlton, south-east London. Southfields South East has been established in association with the VIP Group, which owns chassis rebuilder Truck Align.
