An aerosol fluid that will dry out wet ignition systems, lubricate moving parts and prevent rust and corrosion has been developed by Beck Chemical Industries, a member of the Slip Group. It is named Combat.
The fluid comprises a combination of non-toxic oils, solvents and lanolin (silicones are excluded) and, it is claimed, cannot damage or stain paintwork, rubber or plastics surfaces. It is also said to be harmless to the skin.
In addition to repelling moisture in the case of distributors, ignition systems and sparking plugs, it prevents corrosion of battery terminals, cleans and lubricates moving parts, protects metal trim and can be used to free locks, door hinges, suspensions and steering linkages. Rusted and corroded bolts, nuts and cables can be loosened with the fluid which will also remove tar from bodywork.
