The LA said he did not want to deprive Bamford of a job and the licence would be granted.
A second appeal by Mr A. Thompson of Lancaster was also successful. He had been convicted for drinking and driving in June 1975 and dis qualified for 12 months. He wanted a provisional licence and produced a letter from a local firm offering employment if he got one.
He told the LA that since the disqualification he had been working as an overhead crane driver but wanted to return to the road.
Mr Foster said the drinking offence had been with a private car and Thompson had not been far over the limit.
