WHAT is believed to be the biggest British order for chassisless van-trailers placed in the last two years has been won by Tidd Strongbox Ltd of St Neots, Cambs. The National Freight Corporation has ordered 133 single-axle models from the Strongbox 80 range.
The Strongboxes are destined for the National Carriers parcels fleet. They will not need painting as the NCL The modules vary in payload capacity from 39 tons to 69 tons, depending on whether they have three or four lines and on the operating speed. They can be coupled into other units encompassing loads up to 1200, tons.
