from Tucker Fasteners is the Jack Nut Blind Screw Anchor. This provides a secure female thread quickly and cost-effectively in thin, soft or brittle materials.
Installed from one side of the workpiece only with a heavy or lightweight power tool, the secret lies in the controlled collapse of the fastener body to form legs which self-adjust to the material thickness and produce a wide, blind-side spread.
Tucker says that the Jack Nut will fasten securely, despite burrs or uneven substrates and will also tolerate enlarged or irregular holes. It's available in M4, M5 and M6 thread sizes, in short and long versions and in a variety of materials and thicknesses.
