• There are times when high clamping forces are required to make an effective seal—the joining of wire reinforced hoses, or very tough plastic and rubber hoses are good examples. Norma Products has announced the GBS heavy duty clamp as its answer to the problem.
With a high-tensile flexible stainless-steel band, stainless bolt housings and zinc-plated, yellowchromated mild steel bolts, the new GBS clamp seems up to the job.
Another factor is the clamps have rolled band-edges so that the risk of damage to hoses is eliminated, says the company,.
The "hammer" head is securely retained to enable one-handed tightening and the clamp is available in four band widths; 15mm, 20mm, 25mm and 30mm. And Norma stocks a range of clamping diameters from 32mm to 226mm.
It says larger sizes, together with all-stainless clamps (including the bolts) are available to order. An example price is £2.20 each for the 68x73 GBS 70/25. Write number 99 on the reader reply card.
