UNITED TRAILERS Wisbech has been bought out of administration by Scunthorpebased tipper-maker Weightlifter Bodies.
Weightlifter Bodies managing director David Thomson did not want to reveal the price paid for the company, but says he understood it was -considerably more" than had been offered by Fruehauf the other main bidder.
He adds that the main attraction of United for Weightlifter is its expertise in niche markets, particularly moving floors and ejectors used when loading and unloading trailers.
"They couldn't really teach us much about chassis manufacture, but their specialist knowledge will add to what we can offer."
Joint administrator Barry Lewis, from Harris Lipman, says: "We were approached by a number of interested parties, but it was the Weightlifter bid that offered by far the best option."
