In the past year, S. Smith and Sons (M.A.), Ltd., made a net profit of £101,432. The company's successful trading for the twelve months is particularly notable, as the profit is obtained without bringing in the new assets, which will duly appear in the balance-sheet for next year, i.e., the 75 per cent, holding in Edward Jaeger (London), Ltd., which manufactures speedometers, and the entire share capital in the Robinhood Engineering Works, which produces K.L.G. sparking plugs.
An indication of the progress made by the company was given at the annual
general meeting held recently, when it was mentioned that, whereas five years ago 100,000 articles were produced annually at Cricklewood, during the past financial year the number had increased to one million, exclusive of goods manufactured by subsidiary companies or purchased by the company.
