Another new company has been formed in the Newcastle neighbourhood for the purpose of opening up limitedstop bus services. This is the, Great North of England Motor Omnibus Co., Ltd., which has as provisional directors Mr. J. A. London, of Newcastle, and Mr. D. S. Davies, of Gateshead, both of whom are interested in existing successful long-distance undertakings. The company is a private one, and the capital is i5,000 in 4,000 preference shares of El each and 20,000 ordinary shares of is. each. It is gathered that the company has under consideration routes between Darlington and Carlisle, and between Newcastle and Nottingham.
Lorry Demand from Greece.
A report lately to hand from Athens indicates that there has recently been an increasing demand for motor lorries and vans in Greece, 103 suc.h vehicles, mainly Ameriaan, having been disposed of in the Pirsaus and Athens during the three months ended with September last as compared with 64 vehicles in the corresponding period of 1926.
