• A cab for reports from chief constables on the action taken by the police against unlicensed and uninsured foreign lorries using British roads was made in the Commons.
But Mr. Elystan Morgan, Under Secretary at the Home Office, told the MP who had made the suggestion Mr. Ronald Atkins (Labour, Preston North)—that on present information he did not feel justified in putting chief constables to the great trouble involved.
But if Mr. Atkins would let him know what particular points he had in mind, he would gladly see whether he could help, promised Mr. Morgan.
