• With trucks equipped willgrabs always in demand, Kel-Berg's Oxfordshire used truck operation has started to put new examples into stock so that operators can virtually buy them off the shelf. It's offering chassis with hook lifts on the same basis, as well as drawbar combinations.
Spokesman Simon Hall says: "Customers have got used to waiting at least five months for some of the more sophisticated pieces of equipme-it to be delivered. However, we recently supplied a buyer with a Volvo drawbar unit fitted with a Hiab grab, plus a drawbar
trailer to go with it, in as little as three weeks. What's more, the complete rig was finished in his colours."
It was difficult to decide which items to hold in stock, but Hall explains: "We talked to the crane people about which products were their best sellers, and talked to operators about what they wanted." Kel-Berg can easily make minor alterations to match client requirements. The vehides are assembled in the firm's brand-new workshop.
However, Kel-Berg isn't neglecting the truck import side—Hall stresses: "That's still going strong."
