UK PALLETS, the Business Postowned pallet network, has been hit by yet another problem with its membership.
The firm moved quickly to distance itself from its Milton Keynes franchisee last week after it reportedly encountered financial problems.
It is the third time this year that the network has suffered from disruption, following the collapse of Scottish firm Weaver Pallet Express (Scotland) and Essex operator Blueways Commercials.
The exact status of the firm, Marsh alls of Milton Keynes, is unclear, but UK Pallets says it has decided to remove the firm from the network because a cheque from Marshalls for thousands of pounds bounced.
Business Post spokesman Bill Wallis says: "They had failed to meet their commitments."
CM tried to contact the firm, but its phone number no longer works. UK Pallets' Hemel Hemp stead and Northampton member Dachser Transport has stepped in to take over the Milton Keynes area.
Dachser Transport general manager John Goodman says that the company's managing director was contacted on Friday by UK Pallets: "We're certainly helping out for the Milton Keynes area, but we're not sure whether that will become a more permanent fixture."
