• To facilitate the movement of holiday traffic the Ministry of Transport of the Federal Republic of Germany has prohibited goods vehicles of 71 tons gross laden weight and heavy goods vehicles towing trailers from using motorways and certain other roads in Western Germany during some summer weekends. These restrictions apply during the weekend June 27-29 and each weekend in July from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and from 6 a.m. on Saturday to 10 p.m. on Sunday.
