• Jos. Walsh (Darwen) Ltd., its director and two employees, were committed for trial when they appeared at Darwen magistrates' court on Monday on charges of conspiracy and forgery as regards hours and records offences. Joseph Walsh, a director of the company, from Darwen, Stanley Mellilieu, chief clerk, and Hubert Hunt, manager, who both come from Blackburn, will appear before a jury at the county assizes in Lancaster starting on Monday June 23.
The prosecuting counsel is Mr. David Watson and the defendants are represented by Mr. J. A. Backhouse. There are six charges against each of the accused. The three defendants are each on E50 bail.
