Gelligaer UDC has really gone gay for the investiture of the Prince of Wales. When its former AEC Swift demonstrator came up for repaint recently the Corporation decided to give it the full treatment as a tribute to Prince Charles. Now it is touring around town in predominantly white livery with a large vertical red band round the centre of the vehicle, and sporting green hub caps.
And as an added gesture, traffic manager Roy Marshall told a colleague, a message, "Gelligaer welcomes the Prince of Wales", has been painted on the roof.
Mr. Marshall also revealed that the undertaking is expecting delivery next year of three Bristol VRT 30ft double-deckers with Northern Counties bodywork.
