Scottish hauliers have been given an extra incentive to complain about plans for E2-avehicle congestion charges in Edinburgh following claims that the industry would support them.
Andrew Burns, executive member for transport at Edinburgh City Remick says: "My understanding is that aria national level the Freight Transport Association and the Road Haulage Association broadly support the idea of congestion charging. As to how they respond to this particular consultation period we will have to watt and see."
The two associations have been passionate in their opposition to potential congestion charging schemes that involve charging of CVs.
The consultation period will end on 22 July.
