THE FIRST sizeable batch of Leyland National single-deckers on the secondhand market is selling well, according to a major dealer.
Ensign Bus of Grays took 11 1972 Nationals which Plymouth sold to meet new traffic requirements. They all have certificates of fitness until 1979 and are in good mechanical order.
A company spokesman told CM: "We are selling them for prices in line with our expectations, bearing in mind that they are the most modern secondhand buses available in this country."
Among operators which have bought the vehicles from Ensign are Berresfords Motors of Cheddleton, and Clyde Coast Services of Saltcoats.
