A hundred service stations selling dery are said now to be offering lorry drivers Green Shield stamps. The Green Shield company are trying to get their feet into a market worth £140m a year.
The news is hardly likely to excite operators, who would much prefer to pay less for their fuel than for their drivers to enjoy a back-hander on purchases. Anyway, it would take an awful lot of stamps to buy a new eight-wheeler.
