• LDV has signed a multimillion-pound deal with Polish diesel engine manufacturer Andoria to supply CKD (completely knocked down) kits of its 400 Series van and chassis-cab. The deal is for 1,000 kits a year initially.
Andoria will fit its own 2.5litre turbo-diesel engine, in place of the Peugeot diesel fitted in UK-built models. Land Rover will supply its latest R380 Discovery fivespeed synchromesh gearbox direct to Andoria. All vehicles will be bodged LDV but marked "Powered by Andoria".
They will be sold through a dealer network currently being established in Poland by Andoria. The aim is to establish sales in Poland then expand into adjoining countries and the Baltic States.
There are no plans to offer the Polish engine in UK built models.
