Hot on the heels of that interesting history was DAF at Work by Patrick W Dyer, a well-illustrated volume that offers a comprehensive look at the 2800 and its more powerful 3300 and 3600 siblings.
Just two years after its UK sales gathered pace, the DAF was the star of a useful CM supplement How to get the best out of the DAF 2800 in the 23 July 1976 issue, which guided potential buyers or owners through subjects such as the ABC of specifications, driving techniques and recommended servicing intervals.
The late Pat Kennett, editor of Truck magazine, produced a World Trucks series in the 1970s and 80s. His authoritative record of DAF was fifth in the series and is still much sought after by collectors.
Last, but not least, Eric Gibbins penned a highly readable record with his Trucks Today – DAF in 1981.
