Remarkable fuel economy is one reason DAF has lowest total operating costs. Reserves of power, extra power/weight safety and total reliability help too.
An exceptional fuel economy record has been set by the FAT 2205 DU owned by Moreys of Ringwood, Hants. This DAF mixer chassis has averaged nearly i r mpg since April — a figure over 35% better than others in the fleet. The performance put up by the 216 bhp engine on short haul delivery work means an extra round trip can be fitted into the working day.
The tipper and mixer chassis range offers 4 x 2 or 6 x 4, gvw of i6 Or 24 tons, turbocharged DAF diesels of 155 or 216 bhp.
