VOLVO HAS set a list price of £4,300 for the independent front suspension (IFS) option on its new FH series tractor units and heavyweight rigid chassis.
It will also be three to four years before IFS is reengineered for right-hand drives.
In the meantime, the standard set-up is a beam axle with either steel parabolic leaf springs or air suspension, the latter essential for cutting chassis height below 900mm.
