• Harris Logistics, the retail distribution arm of TDG, has won a three-year 2.1.5m contract to provide services for wafer maker Askeys.
• Cardiff-based general haulier Rhys Davies Freight Logistics has invested £1.5m in 41 new trucks, trailers and vans to service its distribution centres in South Wales, St Albans, Bradford and Birmingham.
• Windsor-based Hi.yhway Truck Lease has a contract hire deal worth nearly 2400,000 with Scottish brewer Maclay & Co for eight new MAN 17-tonne curtainsiders and one Mercedes van.
• Yorkshire-based LLincn Tankers has won a threeyear contract with chemical manufacturer Associated Octel to take molten sulphur from Runcorn to its Anglesey plant.
• Contract distribution company Ponsonby Highcaf e has ordered 30 new trailers from Montracon. Ponsonby has depots in Witton, Warrington and Belvedere.
• Ryder has a four-year contract with Manchesterbased Northern Battery Distribution to supply and maintain seven delivery vehicles. The vehicles include two 17-tonne Volvo FL6s, one 7.5-tonne Mercedes 814, three 410s and 0310 van.
• Trailer manufacturer Fruithclul= has signed a 2500,000 contract to supply Cumbrian paper manufacturer James Cropper with 21 new trailers to replace an existing fleet of 25.
