costs firm E2,00 WEST MIDLANDS-BASED Charlton Whitehouse Fuels has been lined £2,000 after one of its drivers failed to check the weight of a vehicle laden with coal.
Stuart Baglin of Wes.sons Road was fined £1,000 with £115 costs by Solihull Magistrate's Court after he admitted overloading the truck.
Dominic Green, prosecuting for Vosa, told the court: "Baglin admitted he had failed to weigh the lorry on the firm's weighbridge before starting his journey to Worcester. "A prohibition order was on the vehicle."
Baglin was stopped by officials on the A456 by Qu near Birmingham. where his was found to be 980kg (32% the legal weight limit.
Green told magistrate!. overloading a vehicle is a st offence because it increast risk of accidents.
