• AWD production is starting at Marshall's Cambridge Airport site. Axle, cab and chassis sub assembly is still being carried out at Dunstable but will gradually be shifted to Cambridge.
The company has received orders for 100 vehicles from Abu Dhabi and Botswana; 50 MT 4x4s will go to Abu Dhabi, the rest are TJ models destined for relief work in Botswana with agencies such as the Red Cross and Save the Children. Trucks will continue to be badged "AWD Bedford" for export and "AWD" in the UK.
Production for the domestic market is unlikely to start before May, when all vehicles will befitted with Euro-1 engines. The company plans to continue its kit production, with assembly in Morocco, Nigeria, Sudan, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.
