111 Ryder will continue to run two separate business units in Europe: contract hire and truck rental; and logistics— the one part of its European business it wanted to keep. Steve Hunt, managing director of Ryder plc, is returning to the States, while Tracy Leinbach takes over contract hire and rental in the UK and Europe.
Burns says Ryder is considering growing in the UK by acquisition, and it might extend the current network of 39 depots. But there are no plans to buy a trailer rental company.
