Always take into acount the load being carried and understand any potential hazards. Get into the habit of checking the safety of the load during the course of your journey.
When restraining a load, be aware of its centre of gravity and remember that movement of goods in transit will affect the way the vehicle handles.
Drivers should be aware— but it doesn't hurt to remind them — that they are responsible for the load and will be held accountable if any part of it falls from the lorry during transit, regardless of who loaded the vehicle.
in severe winter conditions, remember snow and ice forming on the top of the trailer can be a hazard to other motorists as it melts and slides off the vehicle while in motion.
