A THREE-WHEELER demountable gully emptier with 590 litres (130gal) capacity has been designed for local authorities looking for lightweight vehicles to work in subways, parks or shopping precincts.
With a 560kg (1Icwt) chassis cab and fibreglass body, the Minibug is claimed to be the lightest vehicle of its kind on the market by its developer, Fergussons (Tankers) Ltd of Portsmouth, The demountable system with manual jacking is by Ray Smith Demountables Ltd of Peterborough. The 3/16i mild steel tank is fitted with a Briggs and Stratton petrol engine to drive a Hammond exhauster/compresser giving 1.7curn/min (60cuft/min) at 950rpm.
