[2056] "BUYERS" write "ii we buy a secondhand steam wagon (which has been in use recenrly, and is therefore presumably registered) in the north of England, and take it to Cornwall, what steps, if any, have we to take before using it there ? Must we effect a fresh registration, or notify the change of locality merely, and to whom ?"
ANSWER.—Either the vendor, or you as the purchasers, must send the existing copy of the entry in the register to the registering authority which issued it, together with a notification of the change of ownership. The clerk of that authority will then have to register the change of ownership, and to send the fresh copy of the revised entry to you. In your letter to the clerk, you must distinctly state that you wish to continue the existing registration, and not to cancel it, and enclose with your letter a fee of es. If there has been any change in colour or superstructure, notify them at the same time.
