• The Trades Union Congress annual conference is to press Labour to introduce stronger union rights if it wins the next election.
The TUC wants unions to be consulted on any issue where membership exceeds 10% of a company's workforce, with full union recognition where more than half a company's employees vote for it and a universal right to union representation.
But the TUC steered away from a vote on an acceptable figure for a minimum wage.
