HEATHROW AIR FREIGHT haulier Watkins & Sole (W&S) has won a E1m-a-year rolling contract with Japanese transport giant Yusen Air Cargo.
Under the contract, which starts on 1 November, W&S will handle all of Yusen's UK warehousing and transport. operating from Heathrow Airport.
W&S chairman John Watkins says the company now negotiating to take over Yusen's work from regional airports as well: "We are delighted by the contract win. It's very good business for us. Yusen is a lovely company and very well thought of" • Watkins & Sole Transport's turnover rose from £7.1m to £8.1 m in the year ending 31 January 2006; pre-tax profits rose from £152,000 to £352,000. Growth at sister firm Watkins & Sole, gave a combined turnover of £13.5m with pre-tax profits of £467,861.
