A Co Durham haulier has escaped with a formal warning after being given six weeks to have his vehicles go through a fresh MOT test with no defects that should have been detected by drivers or have his licence revoked.
Andrew Henderson, trading as Andrew Henderson Transport of Crook, had been called before North-Eastern Traffic Commissioner Tom Macartney (pictured) at a Leeds disciplinary inquiry because of concern over his maintenance record (CM 27 July).
