III A £45m order placed with Ford by Darlington-based Northgate Motor Holdings is likely to be matched by a similar order next year. Northgate, a subsidiary of Goode Durrant, has agreed to spend £45m in the first part of a two-year contract on a range of Ford and Iveco Ford vehicles including light commercials, vans and trucks. The company operates 7,000 vehicles from 13 depots in the North-east, Yorkshire, the North-west and the Midlands. It is halfway through a three-year plan to increase the number to 20 depots throughout the country with at least 10,000 vehicles.
