The side-type 'Cornet' buses are now being used in a big way for both city and inter-city work ; the' Royal Tiger' and the new lower-weight 'Tiger Cub' are rapidly coming into their own, while the ' Titan ' double-decker remains a familiar sight in big cities.
Though designed for different types of services, all these models have important features in common. Fuel consumption of every Leyland is better than most, maintenance is lower, performance is wonderfully reliable . . . and they outlast most other buses.
After extended and widespread trials of these modern vehicles, orders from India have developed into a steady flow and nearly 1,000 have now been shipped to the following State Transport Services alone :—
