• Two Keswick coaching companies are to be voluntarily wound up by their members, it was announced last week, Weightmans's (Keswick) and Lake Hotel Coaches, both of Lake Road Coaching Station, have appointed Mr. Henry Denwood Pridmore as liquidator. Chairman of both companies is Mr. J. M. Wilson.
• Newcastle upon Tyne Corporation Transport and representatives of the platform staff have agreed in principle to a new bonus scheme as part of a local productivity deal. The employees, understood to be seeking an extra 4d an hour. claim they are entitled to more money because of savings from o-m-o and also extra work involved due to staff shortage. At present one-man operators receive 25 per cent extra for driving double-deckers and 20 per cent extra for single-deckers.
