• The union representing 10,000 Parcelforce workers has accused the company of being "very negative" in its latest wage round meeting.
Parcelforce met Union of Communication Workers' negotiators this Tuesday (20 Aug) but refused to budge from its offer of a £280 one-off payment to all staff (CM 15-21 Aug). All Parcelforce would do is consider changing the date of payment — at present the money is offered in two stages, beginning in
December. UCW negotiator Colin Glanville says the cash is not enough. The two sides meet again on 27 August.
