An electrical alarm which operates on a closed circuit unit as opposed to the more conventional open circuit has been developed by Simba. This means that even if the wiring circuit is cut the alarm will still sound.
This new system includes alarm points on all doors, boot and bonnet, immobilises the vehicle, and is used in conjunction with the Kaba highsecurity key switch.
A particular application deriving from this is the alarm protection of trailers. The wiring system, say the makers, ensures that disconnecting the trailer leads or cutting the alarm will still activate the audible alarm. The new electric system is available from £47.50.
