Words: Kevin Swallow THE FLEET AUCTION Group (FLAG) has invested £400,000 on a new six-lane vehicle appraisal centre at its Leicestershire site.
The auction company says the centre is located immediately behind site security, making it the irst stop once a vehicle has arrived on site.
Operations director Kevin Clarke says that with FLAG’s number plate recognition system also positioned at the entrance security point, arriving vehicles are instantly logged on to the company’s tracking system.
“Assessors using hand-held PDAs appraise and image vehicles as soon as the vehicles are on site, with the data available within minutes of arriving and providing real-time vehicle monitoring.
“We also offer ‘costed appraisals’, which many vendors use to give them more details when charging customers for excessive damage, and to provide more accurate valuations of their vehicles,” says Clarke.
