• Powerscreen
International has bought SDC Trailers for E7m. The move complements last year's acquisition of Moffett Engineering. Shay McKeown, chief executive of Powerscreen, says: "There is excellent growth potential in the SDC product line in the home and export markets."
• Nissan will launch a new pickup at the RAI show in Amsterdam next month, with three body styles. The launch should put Nissan's pickup into direct competition with Toyota's Hilux and Mitsubishi's L200.
• A national vehicle security help centre has been opened called GAP Security, Thatchamapproved security is available from a customer service line 0800 783 2165 which is manned from Monday to Saturday. There is also a technical helpline available 365 days a year.
• Furniture maker Multiyork has bought two MAN 7.5-tonners. The 155hp 12000 8.163F chassis are running on Multiyork's internal shuttle service between its head office in Thetford, Norfolk and 38 showrooms throughout the UK.
