ktured shaking hands on a job well done are Major Adrian Rafferty and Peter Sherlock, head of Car and Commercial at Plymouth Citybus. His company has just completed restoration work on this magnificent 1824 Russian cannon which was housed at the Royal Artillery at Woolwich for many years and will now have a new home at the Citadel in Plymouth The cannon fell into British hands when it was captured at the Battle of Alma in September 1854. They certainly built 'em to last back then.
