• Banff-based Andrew Watson's licence has been cut from four vehicles and five trailers to one vehicle and one trailer by Scottish Licensing Authority Michael Betts. And the licence now expires at the end of next January, a year early. Watson, of GlenlIvet, Ballindadoch, appeared at an Edinburgh disciplinary inquiry because of a series of convictions against him and his drivers and his failure to report the convictions to the Traffic Area. The LA was told that Watson had been convicted of overloading offences in 1992 and 1994. In October 1994 Watson had also been fined £1,750 for permitting drivers hours offences and £1,250 for eight offences of overloading. His drivers had been fined £750 for 17 offences of faIisfying tacho records and £500 for eight offences of overloading. Betts issued a final warning relating to the convictions against Watson and his drivers and his failure to notify the convictions.
