But the Hawk is naturally happy to make an exception when the cricket in question is in aid of causes as worthwhile as the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust and the Woodfield School for Handicapped Children.
In fact there is a strong road haulage connection as the charily match is the Fume§ Cricket Cup Final, sponsored by Fume& Transport of Hemel Hempstead, Herts. It will be held on Friday 18 August at Hemel Hempstead Cricket Ground and, other commitments permitting, cricket star David Gower will be attending A raffle will be drawn during the match; prizes include a colour telly and a ferry crossing on any Stew Sea/ink route for a car and five passengers.
Raffle tickets cost 50p each; sponsorship is also invited for players (minimum of150).
