The UK is a major market for Stas, a fact highlighted in the dispatch yard by the number of trailers in familiar-looking liveries, including Mike Beer and Simpsons Matt. Of late, the manufacturer has been represented here by three dealers, but a restructuring means only one of them now remains.
Steadplant Limited, Clitheroe, has been granted the rights for Great Britain, while Dublin's TO Trailers is covering the whole of Ireland. Steadplant has extended the after-sales support function to create a nationwide network. At time of writing, 12 locations have been established, with the target of having one no more than an hour's journey from any operator's location. The network is being reviewed to identify any holes that need filling.
The UK-spec TPX, being launched at Tip-Ex 08, is a 9.4m-long, 31m3 model, with some extra strengthening to meet our more demanding needs.
