• Neil Kinnock is sei to leave the top transport post in Europe, swapping his Brussels job for another in the European Commission.
The ex-Labour Party leader is tipped to become foreign affairs Commissioner—leaving behind him what could be difficult negotiations on the planned introduction of the 48-hour week for lorry drivers.
"He does expect to move on from transport but he expects to be in the Commission," says his spokeswoman. Kinnock's replacement will not be decided until a new Commission president is chosen in June.
