• Ryder has won the contract to move steel drums for Van Leer UK out of its Ellesmere Port, Burton-onTrent and Hull plants. 29 tractive units and 174 trailers will work on the contract.
• Toomebridge-based has supplied 200 trailers in
13 weeks to German haulier AVG. The contract is worth E3m.
• Logistics firm TOG has awarded oil company Total the contract to supply lubricants at TDG's 18 regional depots which had been supplied by 11 different engine oil companies.
• Automotive electrical and mirror supplier Britax PMG has chosen Parcelforce to deliver products to its 280 UK distributors.
• Securicor Rentmaster is to supply coal merchant CPI Distribution with 29 Leyland Oaf vehicles of 7.5 17 tonnes GVVV.
• Ford has appointed Ryder Integrated Logistics to design and manage its justin-time component delivery network in North America • The Early Learning Centre has extended its contract with TOG Logistics, which will now handle the store's warehousing and mail order sales.
• Computer giant IBM has awarded Tibbett & Britten a five-year contract to provide logistics services across the UK. IBM will sell to T&B its 40% shareholding in HiTech Logistics—the firm they set up as a joint venture.
